I decided to get with the times and create a facebook business fan page for Linda Jae Photography. Sounds easy, right? If you have a degree in web design from WPI, yes. If not, you’re basically out of luck. Or, out to lunch…

I had no idea that a fan page is COMPLETELY different than a personal page. It can be as technically complicated as developing a website. At first, I was pumped! Then…I did something absolutely horrifying-

Apparently after you have 25 “fans”, you can create a “username”. Naturally, it would be the name of your business. Guess what? This username is PERMANENT. Face book will not let you change it (for the fan page). Unless you want to delete the page and start all over again. Boy, wow-weee-you should’ve seen me 2 Fridays ago. I spent the whole day crying. Ridiculous, yeah?! There are way more important things to be crying over, I’m sure!

When I created the username for the Linda Jae Photography fan page, for whatever odd reason, I thought they wanted a “password”. I SCREAMED IN HORROR when this username went viral, for the whole world to see, not being able to change it! What do you ever suppose this username could be?

What!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you MEAN I can’t change my username?! Good God Lucy! Am I going to tell people “hey, check out my new face book fan page at facebook.com/boo boo good kitty42!” Sounds like the name of a stripper! I’m in such trouble…Now what?!

I felt alone, confused and thirsty. Like a real dummie. Are you telling me that people are going to have to connect to “Boo Boo Good Kitty42″ on face book in order to be able to relate to Linda Jae Photography?!!

And of course there is no such thing as a “live” person to speak to over at this small face book company. Don’t ya hate spending the whole day looking for an answer online? The answer was…after all that hard work I did putting the page together, I had to delete the entire thing and start all over again. Not fun-
