Amy and Chris

One of the things I love most about photographing weddings is that I never know what to expect. Everything is so meticulously planned, yet un-predictable…all at the same time. Being a great photographer not only means being able to relate from a 2 year-old to a 92 year-old, but we also have to be a planner, a shoulder to cry on and aware of any given situation at all times. In other words, attention to detail is a must, all while remaining “as cool as a cucumber” (this is me by the way)-

Which brings me to my funky bride Amy’s story. The ceremony was supposed to be at the top of Wachusett Mountain. September was a gorgeous month weather-wise. It only rained a few times out of the whole month. Guess what?! It rained on Amy’s day.

Some people would get “upset” over the weather situation. Hey, take it easy guys-

Not Amy, she had a smile on her face the whole time. The weather didn’t matter. How much are you lovin’ her hat right now?!-

Strike a pose! Love the tea-length dress and…

RED shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amy’s brother Ryan was such a big help to me with the umbrella. Thanks Ryan!

Le Groom Chris

Anticipation-

I worship magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair for the fashion photography. Whenever I saw this picture, I screamed!!!!!!!!!!!

So back to my story abouth the weather. Just because it rains on your wedding day, doesn’t mean things aren’t going to work out. In fact, the rain can work in your favor. As it did on Amy’s day. One of her bridesmaids bought umbrellas for Amy and the girls. Because it rained, this is what I was able to get-

So you see that the rain can end up being something spectacular as long as you have an open mind-

Amy and Chris…lovin life!-

My boyfriend Morgan grew up in Conneticut. When he was 10 years old, his family moved out to Montana. A completely different way of life. When Morgan was 18, he got into Berklee and stayed in MA. He took me out to Montana to meet his family-

His mom’s house sits on 57 acres of land. Yep, 57-

Here is the view outside of her house. This is a man-made pond-

I was looking for cowboys! Didn’t see many. We took a drive through Idaho and into Wyoming and stayed in Jackson County-

Horses-

Grizzly Bear. And Crow-

Coyotes- oh my-

Found a cowboy bar, with no cowboys-

Here’s the record store Morgan used to hang out as a teenager.

Cactus Records

His dad’s 1980 GMC pickup truck. “Is there a Honey Dew around?”-

Here is a birdhouse that Morgan built when he was 10 years old. I had no idea of this “hidden talent” of his-

Morgan and Tristan-

Non-stop laughs?

You’re probably wanting to know what I thought of the “Big Sky Country”…

I’ll have to get back to you on that-

And what a ride it has been! Summer came and went. Autumn is upon us. Cool sleeping weather at night. A light long-sleeved shirt with the window open a crack. Ahhhhhh- Lets get busy;

Natalie and Andrew

Natalie and Andrew are adorable. ALWAYS smiling and happy, lighting up the room-

LOVED the bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses. The fabric is fab.

Nat knows that I’m always saying “sassy and sexy”, “sexy and sassy”-

Girl is workin it for the camera-

The boys

Handsome boys

There was a street festival going on directly across from the church. I had these boys literally “jumping” for the camera. Notice Andrew’s dad on the left!!

Andrew agreed that it WAS hard work “jumping like that”-

A private moment-

I’m always fascinated by people and what they must be thinking. Photography is “the un-expected” , which I find both inspiring and challenging-

How cute are these two. I mean, really!…

They are now married. The courtship. The preparation. Everything goes by in an instant. One thing is for sure; our photographs really do tell our life stories!

Michelle and Vin

Michelle and Vin are in love and a scream to be around!! Up for anything, these two were a couple of troopers the day of the engagement shoot when it started RAINING AGAIN. Instead of running inside somewhere, we stayed out in the rain. I had an umbrella covering myself and camera. We had a ball! Lets have a look-

Don’t you just love the matching hats?!

Notice the rain drops on the left. Michelle didn’t mind. And I was lovin it-

A different kind of engagement…

Jill and Mike

What a beautiful day for a wedding. Jill’s grandfather used to belong to an Antique Cars club. The club donated two antique cars, one for Jill-

(you know how much I like “sassy”)

and Mike had “his own car” too!

Jill was as cool as a cucumber-

Mike was “giddy” after Jill put the ring on his finger-

Butterflies released across beautiful blue skies-

Romanticism…

Last year was difficult. I lost my two buddies; Mr. Dee Dees and Boozy-

Mr. Dee Dees was “The King of Bitterness”. He was fat, he was grumpy. He would play “cutesy” when it was mealtime. He was 14 years old when he developed a servere case of diabetes. It was a hard decision, but I thought it would be best to let him go. That was last November 11th. Then-

My best buddy in the whole world, Boozy got sick. I couldn’t believe it. He just stopped eating. It turned out that he had a large, cancerous tumor in his stomach. It was too late to operate. There was nothing that could be done and it was devestating. I lost Boozy last December 8th-

Two fine boys, who were inseparable. Suddenly, I lost both of them within a month. Right before the holidays. Looking back at pictures, I can now see how sick they both looked, but I had no idea. I know, I know, you’re probably getting teary-eyed. So am I as I write this. There IS a happy ending, I promise. Wait, lets get some tissues and continue-

Last Christmas was pretty much a blur for me. How could I lose BOTH my boys?! I needed a break. I didn’t even want to think about getting another cat. THEN, one April day, I looked at Morgan and said “lets go to the shelter, I’m ready”. Low and behold I brought home this terror of a cat…

Mr. Bubbles

Mr. Bubbles, a three year old ferral cat, was found at a Laundrymat and placed in a shelter. He was a demon kitty. Just look at his expression! We brought Mr. Bubbles home and he would be sweet one minute, then out of nowhere, bite us. He was crazy. Crazy. My experience with Mr. Bubbles lasted a short two hours. Then, he went back to the shelter. I guess there wasn’t a connection-

Boy, I needed a break after that. Was I ready for another pet? Or were things ok just the way they were? Afterall, no one compares to the two lil’ guys.

Morgan and I were in Natick one day a few weeks ago and stopped into Pet World. Just to look. There were about 20 cats up for adoption. I thought I might want a small kitten. There was one cat that stuck his paw out of the cage and tapped Morgan on the shoulder. I kid you not. We visited with this cat for a good 45 minutes and fell in love with him. Afterall, he chose us. Here, I present to you… OLLIE:

How goofy is Ollie?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the lop-sided markings. Isn’t he a scream?!! He is two-years old and such a sweetie. Funny, he has alot of the same personality as my buddy Boozy had. Lets look at some more pix!

Ollie is such a sweet cat. He is gentle, lovable and playful. He doesn’t really get into much, uses he scratching post and is well-behaved. He is so affectionate. He is really a joy to have in our lives. I’m a firm believer in the “timing” of things-

Ollie enjoys watching HGTV and late-night snacking-

When Ollie is sleeping you can’t see the outline of his eyes because of all the black!! I hope I brought a smile to your face. Pets are such an important part of our families. Do you have a pet story you’d like to share? I would love to here your comments-Happy Day!- Email me at: images@lindajaephotography.com

Meghan and Ryan

June was such a rainy month!! I had photographed three weddings in a row where it rained when the ceremony was being held outdoors!! Somehow, things always have a way of working out. Always. Lets have a look at Meghan and Ryan’s special day-

Even though the ceremony was quickly moved inside at the last minute, by the look on Meghan’s face, it didn’t matter-

Anyone who has seen me in action, photographing a wedding, will know how to “go GQ”. Ryan is an expert in this field!-

Sexy and Sassy too!-

It’s a “lil” diva” and a “lil young man”-

Guess what? The sun magically appeared and I was able to bring the wedding party outside. We had a ball-

“Ah, guys…careful with those flowers”-

So far, it has been a pretty “smokin” wedding season. This week, I’m going to feature Marybeth and Josh’s wedding. Here they are!-

Funny story. I had met Marybeth and Josh last summer when they booked me do photograph their wedding. A couple of months later, I went to see my boyfriend Morgan play with a Jazz band. I was taking pictures of the gig at a distance. During a break, the drummer came up to me and said- “Are you Linda Jae?”. I said “Josh?”. Josh (above) was the drummer that night. I really IS a small world!

Daddy’s little girl-

I love cutting off people’s heads. “What!” you might say. I mean this in a good way. In this image, you see just a peek of the bridesmaid on the right and that is ok. It tells a story and that is where the emotion comes in-

How old do you think these town signs are? I really don’t know, but they look wild-

Marybeth is ready!

And so is Josh and his posse-

Josh was smitten after Marybeth put the ring on his finger!-

Please! Do kiss your bride-

Which bridesmaid do you think is Marybeth’s sister?!-

I LOVE this pix. I simply asked Josh and his parents to get “close and huggy”, and this is what we got. How fun!-

Josh is an amazing drummer. His father is a musician as well! The band consisted of musician friends. During the reception, Josh joined in. His dad is on the far right playing keyboards. The crowd went crazy!!

Awwww-

Hungry for more?! Next week, I’ll feature Meghan and Ryan’s wedding!!
